The Egyptian International Electronic Games Championship concluded. Hosted by Egypt from July 1 to 4, it was held at the Indoor Hall of the Youth and Sports City in Sharm El-Sheikh, with the participation of youth from 12 Arab countries.
The competitions were held on the sidelines of the Arab Robotics Championship and were sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Egyptian Electronic Sports Federation, and the Arab Robotics Association.
Egypt won first place in the championship through Mostafa Amr Mohamed (Egypt), while Alafi Youssef (Algeria) took second place, and Badr Dardak (Morocco) came in third.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his happiness with the success of the Arab Robotics Championship and the Egyptian International Electronic Games Championship, noting the commitment to intensifying electronic competitions as part of the Egyptian Electronic Games Federation’s plan across all governorates of the country. The Minister commended the excellent organization of the two championships and the success of their activities, which were praised by all participants. This is in light of the Egyptian state’s competence and excellence in organizing various international sporting events and championships. He also commended the fruitful cooperation with the South Sinai Governorate in hosting the two championships.
The Egyptian International Championship awards were presented by the Board of Directors of the Electronic Games Federation, headed by Sherif Abdel Baqi, in the presence of Omnia Yahya, Mohamed Warda, Rashed Al-Mazini, and Abdullah Gamal, members of the Board.
It is worth noting that the Arab Robotics Championship included nine different robotics competitions for age groups from 6 years old to the end of university. The competition featured 132 players from 12 Arab countries, representing Jordan, Oman, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, and the UAE, in addition to the host country, Egypt.
